What we do

The Christ Church community is involved in many areas of local life, always seeking to connect people to Christ. As well as offering traditional baptism, marriage, blessing and funeral services, we also work in the community providing chaplaincy, prayer ministry, street pastors and by making home visits to those unable to travel.

While we focus our support in the local community, we also provide practical and financial support to a number of charities across the UK and also overseas.

Services in the Church

Find out how many people were Baptised, Married and worshipped in our church here.

Baptisms

Christ Church offers either a thanksgiving service or a baptism service for babies and their families. Thanksgiving is a celebration of a new life, asking for God's blessing without the commitment that a full baptism gives. Read about baptisms at Christ Church

Marriages and blessings

It is our great delight to welcome couples for either a traditional marriage service, a blessing of a civil marriage or a thanksgiving for marriage on a particular anniversary. Read about marriage at Christ Church

Funerals and bereavements

A funeral marks the end of a life's journey, friends and relations gather together to express their grief, celebrate the deceased persons life and commend them into God's care. Read about funerals at Christ Church

Chaplaincy, prayer ministry and home visits

As part of our mission to connect Christ with the community, our ministry team goes out into the working world to provide spiritual and emotional support as well as simple friendship to a variety of different organisations and businesses. Read more about chaplaincy

At the very centre of our life in Christ Church is a belief in the power of prayer to change people's lives. We provide a variety of services with prayer as their foundation. Read more about our prayer ministry

Our aim is to be an inclusive community so it is vital to us that those who are vulnerable or hidden through sickness, age or disability are included in our worship and so the ministry team can organise home communion to the sick or housebound. Read more about home visits
