The Leprosy Bell is an imaginary story inspired by the Gospel set in Capernaum on the Sea of Galilee. It suggests what people might have thought of Jesus when He began His ministry and offers insight into the everyday life of his followers.
Leprosy was a dreaded illness which had devastating consequences when social distancing was more than keeping two metres apart.
The profit from the sale of The Leprosy Bell will be split between The Friends of Christ Church Swindon and The Leprosy Mission, England, and Wales.

Leprosy Today
2000 years after Jesus ministered to people affected by leprosy, the disease continues to affect men, women, and children.
Hansen’s disease (also known as leprosy) is an infection caused by slow-growing bacteria. With early diagnosis and treatment, the disease can be cured.
Every two minutes, someone is diagnosed with leprosy. That’s more than 200,000 new cases a year. Although it is curable, millions of people worldwide are living with the effects of the disease, from physical disability to mental health problems, poverty, and discrimination.
