Alistair<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apologies:<\/strong>\u00a0 Verity &amp; Katie<\/p>\n<p>Trudie opened the meeting with prayer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Review of Action Points from Meeting on 11 October 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>Purchase of Bibles for Church:\u00a0 <\/b>These have been bought and a bookcase is being sought to place them just outside the lady chapel.\u00a0 A generous donation had been made towards these so the money allocated for this purchase remains in the budget.\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie recently visited Commonweal School with a placement at SYFC.\u00a0 Some of the young people there would like a bible and it was proposed and agreed that \u00a350 from last year\u2019s C &amp; YP budget be given to SYFC towards the purchase of Youth Bibles for these young people.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION:\u00a0 Liaise with Ian re \u00a350 for SYFC towards purchase of bibles\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Budget:<\/b>\u00a0 Trudie has spoken to Ian [Treasurer] and agreed that any outstanding purchases which had been allowed for in last year\u2019s budget can be claimed but claims need to be presented asap:\u00a0 Jim for purchase of Xbox, Christmas BBQ and Doom painting materials [approx \u00a3130] and Janice for purchase of storage boxes [\u00a337.50].\u00a0 This will then complete purchases from the 2012 budget with approx \u00a3200 unspent.<\/p>\n<p>A budget of \u00a31,000 has been agreed for C &amp; Jan<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Ideas for 2013 spend\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Growing Young Leaders:\u00a0 <\/b>Mahima Patole\u2019s name had been put forward but the course will not start in Swindon until September 2013.\u00a0 It is possible that other names may be considered then too.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hot Chocolate Rota:\u00a0 <\/b>It has been decided that, due to lack of space, hot chocolate will not be served in church during the reordering of the church centre.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Welcome Rota:<\/b>\u00a0 Trudie has spoken to some families and it is often difficult for families to arrive early but they are happy to be asked to assist if they are in time.\u00a0\u00a0 Children and young people are noticeably more involved in handing out service sheets, etc and bringing the offering forward.<\/p>\n<p><b>Special Needs Coordinator:<\/b>\u00a0 Verity working on this and to carry forward.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION:\u00a0 Produce form and collate information\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Verity<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Communion before Confirmation:\u00a0 <\/b>PCC have agreed that Communion before Confirmation proposal is taken forward.\u00a0 Jim has volunteered to help present this with Trudie and work through the process and guidelines.\u00a0 The timing of this was discussed \u2013 three to four months to process and a month to prepare children.\u00a0 Important that Simon is present whilst this happens so need to consider whether it will take place before or after his extended study leave later this year.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION:\u00a0 Liaise with Simon re timing of taking forward\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie &amp; Jim<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>Messy Church:\u00a0 <\/b>Fantastic response to request for volunteers and volunteers\u2019 meeting held at King William Street School.\u00a0 Head teacher extremely supportive and plans going well for the launch on 21<sup>st<\/sup> April.<\/p>\n<p><b>Child Protection Update &amp; Review:\u00a0 <\/b>Discussion took place about the role of nominated persons for child protection [there are three people sharing the nominated person role at Christ Church: Julie Tucker, Janice Titcombe and Ailsa Palmer].\u00a0 It was affirmed and confirmed that overall responsibility for child protection is with the nominated persons.<b> <\/b>\u00a0Child Protection guidelines have recently been reviewed by the nominated persons and Dan Jones has approved them.\u00a0 The use of photography in church services and activities involving children and young people is currently being reviewed and guidelines are awaited.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION:\u00a0 Keep C &amp; YP Group informed and updated \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Janice<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0K<\/b><b>ey Training:<\/b>\u00a0 Trudie and Elise have attended Key 1.\u00a0 No dates yet available for 2013.<\/p>\n<p><b>Review of C &amp; YP Targets<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Y1 Welcome:<\/b>\u00a0 Children and young people on the welcoming rota happening a little more often.\u00a0 Provision of hot chocolate has been successful.\u00a0 Announcements re child provision at the start of services is not really happening.\u00a0 Notices are now given at \u2018the Peace\u2019.\u00a0 Trudie to request that child provision info is given as part of the general welcome at the beginning of services.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION: \u00a0Liaise with staff team re notices\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Y2 Raising profile:<\/b> General feeling that this is improving.<\/p>\n<p><b>Y3 Involving C &amp; YP in life of church:<\/b> Active part in planning and delivering is hit or miss.\u00a0 Two \u2018champions\u2019 appointed for all age: Margaret Williams and Genny Williams.\u00a0 It is hoped that others will be more involved with ideas, planning, etc.\u00a0 Tracy willing to coordinate a music group for C &amp; YP.<\/p>\n<p>It was felt that the survey of children, young people and parents would be best left until September or even later in the year when groups have been re-established in the new church centre.<\/p>\n<p>Jim reported that the youth group will still meet during the re-ordering of the church centre though Charlotte Mews Hall is not suitable for this and it is hoped to meet at Bath Road Church.\u00a0 Trudie will liaise with Mark Barrett about this.\u00a0 Numbers vary from week to week and it is hoped to re launch once the new centre is available for use.\u00a0 Planning to offer more games [Xbox and ?table tennis or pool table] to create more of a youth club feel.\u00a0 Information to be taken into schools, especially Commonweal, where Elise and Ali will visit with Trudie when Youth Bibles are taken in.\u00a0 Youth team would like to visit Sunday Club to speak to the older children about the Youth Group and also speak about their work as part of a Sunday morning service.<\/p>\n<p><b>ACTION: \u00a0Purchase of Youth Bibles \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Arrange visit to Commonweal School\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trudie, Ali &amp; Elise<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Janice reported that, following discussion with leaders and parents, it had been decided that Sunday Club would not be relocated at Charlotte Mews Hall during the re-ordering of the Church Centre.\u00a0 It had been proposed and agreed that the children\u2019s groups would be accommodated in church [South Transept, North Transept and Canon Thomas corner].\u00a0 Where possible the children would also spend some time outside.<\/p>\n<p><b>Y5\u00a0 Support and prayer for local schools:<\/b>\u00a0 Chocolates taken in for staff at Christmas and Trudie will ensure that chocolate is taken in at Easter.\u00a0 School assemblies are going very well.<\/p>\n<p><b>Y6\u00a0 Explore outreach to C &amp; YP:<\/b>\u00a0 Launch of Messy Church well underway.\u00a0 Advent Angels a successful event.\u00a0 Plans for this year\u2019s Summer Holiday Club also underway.\u00a0 There will not be a Good Friday Workshop this Easter due to re-ordering of Church Centre.<\/p>\n<p><b>Child Friendly Church Award:<\/b><b>\u00a0 <\/b>Ongoing.\u00a0 Have fulfilled criteria for Bronze and working towards Silver.<\/p>\n<p><b>Date of next meeting:\u00a0\u00a0 Wednesday 8<sup>th<\/sup> May, 7.30pm at the Parish Office<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meeting Notes C &amp;
