{"id":635,"date":"2013-04-13T12:57:18","date_gmt":"2013-04-13T10:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.christchurchswindon.co.uk\/blog\/?p=635"},"modified":"2013-04-13T12:57:18","modified_gmt":"2013-04-13T10:57:18","slug":"church-family-sub-group-held-monday-7th-january-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.christchurchswindon.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/04\/church-family-sub-group-held-monday-7th-january-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Church Family\u2019 sub-group \u2013 held Monday 7th January 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Present: Anne McMillan, Pam Bridgeman, Angela Ruck, Lucy Hayward, Patrick Williams, Nitin Shinde<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Apologies: Sue Rush<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Anne\/Pam reported that the Christmas \u2018Lessons &amp; Carols\u2019 service was very successful \u2013 with some 350 people in attendance.\u00a0 Not everyone stayed for Mulled Wine but would definitely repeat for next year.\u00a0 The use of disposable cups etc worked very well and no one seemed to mind!<\/p>\n<p>The next event for the Group is the Home Group\u2019s Social Evening \u2013 Sat January 26<sup>th<\/sup> 2013 \u2013 7.00pm for 7.30pm &#8211; in the Church Centre.\u00a0 Each HG will be asked to make a short, (5 mins max) presentation about what they do\/plan to do in 2013.\u00a0 <b>Our team will try and arrive for 6.00pm to get organised!\u00a0 Remember to try and take photos for the web and board in Church!<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The evening will be informal \u2013 but will consist of:\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome drink\/nibbles &amp; chat time<\/li>\n<li>First half of the groups present<\/li>\n<li>Grace &amp; Supper \u2013 ask people to move and sit at different tables<\/li>\n<li>Second half of groups present<\/li>\n<li>Anne Macmillan will introduce resources<\/li>\n<li>Groups will be asked to write and suggestions\/ideas on \u2018post-its\u2019 and place on board<\/li>\n<li>Thanksgiving Prayer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One notice has already been placed in the weekly news-sheet and Lucy agreed to contact Ailsa for a reminder on Sunday 13<sup>th<\/sup> Jan (done).<\/p>\n<p>Pam will also send a reminder email to HG Leaders \u2013 asking for them to co-ordinate one savoury and one sweet donation per group.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy offered to donate mulled wine and to take care of buying wine and soft drinks \u2013 receipts will be provided afterwards.\u00a0 We will buy from Magnums in Wood Street and also ask for loan of glasses.<\/p>\n<p>Anne offered to take care of buying nibbles and cheese &amp; biscuits<\/p>\n<p>Nitin will find out what music machines are available and organise<\/p>\n<p>Patrick will get a board for collecting ideas and will also supply bin bags<\/p>\n<p>Pam will make small flower decorations, take responsibility for the tea urns and will also get milk and tea\/coffee.\u00a0 Also, \u2018Post-It\u2019 notes and pens.<\/p>\n<p>Angela will buy paper plates and napkins and will write table numbers from 1-6 on the back to encourage people to move around.<\/p>\n<p>Anne mentioned to the group an idea from Sue Rush regarding \u2018Lent Lunches\/Supper\u2019 to raise money for Christian Aid.\u00a0 After some discussion, it was agreed that we would suggest\/support HG\u2019s in holding such events \u2013 but that it would not be appropriate to open up individual homes to people.\u00a0 It was felt possible to have a single, lunch-time event \u2013 maybe at St Mary\u2019s if a date can be found \u2013 that would be open across the Parish.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lucy agreed to ask Sue Rush for more info<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Anne reported that the PCC had asked the group to take responsibility for the \u2018Away Weekend\u2019 in 2014 \u2013 possibly at a location in Wales suggested by Margaret Williams.<b><\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan to make some enquiries about venues.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Further discussion on topic will be held at next meeting.\u00a0 <b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Pam has compiled a list of people willing to help with teas, coffee and baking cakes on an occasional basis.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>NEXT MEETING DATE \u2013 Monday February 18<sup>th<\/sup> 2013 at Pam\u2019s house.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Lucy Hayward<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>January 11th 2013<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Present: Anne McMillan, Pam Bridgeman, Angela Ruck, Lucy Hayward, Patrick Williams, Nitin Shinde Apologies: Sue Rush Anne\/Pam reported that the Christmas \u2018Lessons &amp; Carols\u2019 service was very successful \u2013 with some 350 people in attendance.\u00a0 Not everyone stayed for Mulled Wine but would definitely repeat for next year.\u00a0 The use of disposable cups etc worked very well and no one seemed to mind!
